Just a few weeks before Christmas, I once again found myself at the Confetti Party Place located at 3190 Westchester Ave in the Bronx for their Holiday Market and Annual Toy Drive. The atmosphere was immersed in a festive ambiance with various vendors, cheerful music, and excited children eagerly awaiting a meeting with Santa.
Amidst the holiday cheer, I stumbled upon Angelina Miranda’s booth, a delightful encounter that sparked both curiosity and joy. Initially, I mistakenly identified her creation as a chocolate cake, but to my pleasant surprise, she corrected me; it was a chocolate flan. The novelty of this sweet revelation intrigued me, although immediate indulgence had to wait, as I sought a quick bite beforehand. She graciously directed me to one of her friends for some tantalizing tamales.
Eventually, I circled back to her booth. Upon my return, the temptation was too strong to resist, and I decided to purchase Miranda’s chocolate flan among her many other items. I am glad because the experience was nothing short of delightful, though the portion proved more generous than my solitary appetite could handle. Consequently, I shared this delectable treat with friends and family, all of whom unanimously praised its exquisite flavor.
