The United Alliance Party is proud to announce the official start of the Independent Petitioning period beginning April 14, marking an important opportunity for candidates across New York to take the first step toward appearing on the ballot for the 2026 election cycle.
The United Alliance Party is an independent petitioning organization dedicated to supporting both new and experienced candidates as they navigate the ballot access process. Our mission is simple and focused: to provide the administrative support necessary to ensure that candidates can meet all requirements set forth by the Board of Elections. By handling the technical and procedural aspects of petitioning, we allow candidates to concentrate on what matters most, connecting with voters and building a message that resonates with their communities.
The independent petitioning season runs from April 14 through May 22. During this time, candidates must collect the required number of signatures to qualify for the ballot. One of the most significant advantages of running on an independent line is the ability to gather signatures from any registered voter, regardless of party affiliation. This creates a unique opportunity to build broad, diverse support and engage with voters across the political spectrum.
The United Alliance Party is committed to making this process more accessible. We provide petition forms, guidance, and submission support at no cost to candidates, aside from standard filing expenses required by law. Our goal is to remove unnecessary barriers and empower individuals who are ready to step forward and serve.
As we enter this petitioning period, we encourage anyone considering a run for public office to take advantage of this opportunity. Independent candidates play a vital role in strengthening our democratic process by offering new ideas, fresh perspectives, and greater representation for all communities.
