Why I Am Running:
I am running for Assembly District 77 because I want to be part of a community that unites to make their voices heard. I aim to represent those who are struggling in various ways and ensure that minority groups are no longer forgotten by indifferent officials. Our community is facing numerous challenges, from women enduring domestic violence to parents working tirelessly to cover living expenses, leaving them with little time to spend with their children. The rising crime rates are largely unaddressed, and teenagers are often forced to work to support their families.
One of my primary goals is to establish a program for young adults that allows them to experience life beyond school. Due to the high cost of living, many parents cannot afford extracurricular activities for their children. Growing up as a legal immigrant in the Bronx, I missed out on many enriching experiences like visiting museums, attending musicals, and enjoying theater because my parents were always working to make ends meet. I believe we can create opportunities for young people to experience life fully, despite financial constraints.
As an former immigrant, I understand the struggles faced by many in our community. My personal experiences have fueled my desire to make a difference. I want to ensure that no child misses out on cultural and educational opportunities due to economic hardships. By creating programs that provide these experiences, we can enrich the lives of our youth and help them develop into well-rounded individuals.
I am committed to addressing the issues that matter most to our community. My vision is to create a safe, supportive, and prosperous environment for all residents of Assembly District 77 to shape the future of our young generation and set the standard for a better society for all.
