When I got out of the military I had difficulties with realtors accepting my Post 9/11 G. I. Bill. It is a Veteran’s educational benefit meant to pay for tuition and living expenses, but with no housing address, I was unable to retrieve my household goods such as my clothing. This left me seeking assistance through Save A Suit. I received a donated suit for my first interview and landed the job, which helped turn things around in a tremendous way.

Statement on Oscar Lopez & The Puerto Rico Parade
Last year, Oscar Lopez’s sentence was commuted by President Obama after years of being held as a political prisoner. Because of his ties with FALN I do not support the Puerto Rico Parade honoring him. However, I respect the parades’ representatives in their stance but I believe that the true focus of the parade should be on the current economic crisis that Puerto Rico is facing instead of a person who people are divided on.
