On October 4th, I turned 40 years old.

I had planned to take the day off — to relax, reflect, and maybe even disappear from the noise for a few hours. But as I looked around at what’s happening in our city, I couldn’t. New York City is in danger, and when your home is at stake, you don’t take a day off — you stand up.

So instead of unwinding, I rallied a team of volunteers and hit the streets to support our Republican and Conservative slate of candidates — from Curtis Sliwa, the relentless fighter for New York, to City Council candidates Emmanuel Findlay Jr. and Gary Lutz, men committed to restoring integrity and balance to our neighborhoods.

And then, something unforgettable happened.

In the middle of the day’s chaos — the canvassing, the energy, the mission — a New York legend, Curtis Sliwa, paused his own campaign for Mayor to wish me a happy birthday. It was an unexpected moment of respect and camaraderie that reminded me why we do this — not for power, but for people, for principles, and for the city we love.

One day, I’ll look back on this movement — and this moment — and know it was the beginning of a story worth telling.
