Dear President Donald J. Trump,
I have earned your endorsement. I want it, and New York City needs it.
Since joining the Conservative Party, my name has been tied to yours, whether I sought it or not. Because of that connection, I have defended your record, explained where I differ, and acknowledged where you have been right, always with respect for your ultimate goal of putting America first.
Regarding mayoral candidate Curtis Sliwa, I understand and respect his request for you to stay out of his race. However, I must be clear. I welcome you. I personally welcome you. Your presence and your voice would bring energy, momentum, and focus to campaigns across this city, especially my own for Public Advocate for New York City.
As a Conservative leader in one of the most challenging political environments in the nation, I have worked tirelessly to grow voter registration, increase community involvement, and fight for electoral victories. While the rollout of certain policies has at times made it more difficult for conservatives in New York City, we have adapted, continued forward, and kept building.
Before your last visit to New York, I personally invited you to the Bronx. When you came, just across the street from my home and district line, I was not invited to speak. Even then, I extended an open invitation for you to return. Since that time, I have continued to fight under pressure, without hesitation, and without a single action that would bring discredit to your administration or our movement.
Mr. President, I have earned your trust, I have earned your respect, and I have earned your endorsement. I welcome it, I am ready for it, and I believe it would send a powerful message to voters across this city that our movement is alive and growing, even in the Bronx.
Thank you. May God bless you, and may God bless the United States of America.
