Recently, I had the honor of speaking at the thank you celebration hosted by Dr. Julie Milner, former Queens Civil Court judge candidate. In a room filled with her friends, family, and loyal supporters, I was invited to deliver remarks—and left with something far greater: her official endorsement for my campaign for New York City Public Advocate.
As many know, I have always taken a firm stance against socialism. But it wasn’t until this recent primary—where a socialist-aligned candidate emerged as the Democratic front-runner for mayor—that the urgency of this fight became undeniably clear. The rise of socialism in our city is no longer a fringe ideology; it has moved dangerously close to the mainstream. That reality has only strengthened my resolve and deepened my mission to push back.
Dr. Milner’s event was both moving and powerful. The room was predominantly composed of Asian American families, with many of Chinese descent. It was my first formal address on this subject in such a setting, and I spoke candidly. I reminded attendees that many immigrants leave their countries of origin—often ruled by authoritarian or communist regimes—not just in search of opportunity, but in pursuit of the American Dream.
I emphasized that while I am a conservative candidate, that label does not divide us—it unites us in shared values. I spoke in support of law enforcement, the preservation of merit-based education like standardized testing, and above all, the importance of protecting the freedoms that brought their families to this nation in the first place.
“I understand you may be hesitant to support a Republican or Conservative,” I told them, “but your party is steering you toward a dangerous path. We may wear different colors, but we want the same things: safe communities, strong schools, family values, and the chance to build a better future. I hope to earn your trust and your vote.”
The response was overwhelming—thunderous applause, cheers, photos, and heartfelt conversations. It was more than a campaign stop. It was a moment of unity.
To Dr. Julie Milner, I extend my deepest gratitude. Thank you for your endorsement, your faith, and the opportunity to speak to such a vibrant, engaged community. Your support is not only an honor—it’s a symbol of the bridges we are building all across New York City.
